Pack It Up, Pack It In

I'm leaving for Chile tomorrow - and while I look forward to the skiing and wine tasting, two days of community service at a children's shelter near Santiago will be awesome:

It's weird to be packing for cold weather, but the temperature won't get above 65 the whole time we're there! I'll be pretty out of touch next week, but will take plenty of photos (and might even share a few...)

I'm Not Dead Yet

In an attempt to pacify Heather, I wanted to share that we're almost done unpacking the apartment in Evanston and look forward to celebrating with Michael and Thea tonight when they drive through town. Where should we go to dinner? I'm off to Yelp to find out...

I'm also starting to gear up for my commute to Hyde Park, and was happy to discover that RTA has a mobile website that includes Metra train schedules. I have a feeling that my BlackBerry and iPod will get a LOT of use during the commute - what's your favorite mobile website?

Horse Poetry

We went for a horseback ride today. Kristi rode Popcorn, and I rode Moki. During the un-scenic parts of the trail, I wrote a limerick about my horse...

There once was a horse named Moki
Who had an affection for gnocchi
Italian by birth
This stallion has girth
And likes to do the hokey pokey

...and then I wrote a haiku:

Moki the horsey
He likes to sniff Popcorn's butt
My inner thighs hurt

Now, I have to go to bed.

  • As representative of your blog "love group" we are starving. Can you throw us a bone? New pics of the place? Angry Brad unpacking? Something?!?!?!?!
