Batch Download Flickr Photos

I had been looking for an easy way to download entire sets from Flickr, and stumbled across a not-too-clumsy workaround:
  1. Download Blurb BookSmart
  2. Create a new book (call it slurper), and use the Flickr Slurper to download photos
  3. You'll find the photos as .original files in Mac HD > Users > Username > Library > Application Support > BookSmartData > slurper > library
  4. Download Name Mangler
  5. Rename the .original files to .jpg
Presto!

(The instructions are Mac specific, but the Lifehacker post where I found Name Mangler has alternatives for Windows and this Blurb forum post tells you where Windows stores the slurped photos.)

Mail Key

I went to get the mail, and discovered that they forgot to lock the mailboxes. Neat!

Just What the DR Ordered!

This week, we found out that our 2009 KWEST trip to the Dominican Republic was approved! Too bad we have to wait 261 days before we leave :(

Here's a logo I designed with some creative input from Michael. I'm still trying to figure out how to "wrap" it around a can (since we stole the slogan from Dr. Pepper)

  • I was taught stealing design / ad slogans is what good marketing reps do!

I'm enjoying the word verification. Today mine is chinwoo. I wonder who / what a chinwoo is?

  • Apparently, Chin Woo is a school of Chinese kungfu:

Want

I always get excited when Threadless announces new tees, but this week's crop is especially fantastic!

There's even one for you Vikings fans, but I couldn't bring myself to link to it.
