Miles

After driving from Minneapolis to Racine to Chicago to Racine to Waukesha to Oak Creek to Waukesha to Racine to Waukesha to Racine to Waukesha to Racine to Chicago back to Minneapolis, I'm home for a few hours before flying to LA.

Go Gophers!

RSS Pack

For some strange reason, I've been buying lots of stuff lately?

Since it's usually cheaper to buy stuff online, I've also been shipping lots of stuff lately.

Since Google Reader is amazing(ly better than my old aggregator), I've been using RSS a lot lately.

The best way to track your packages using RSS is track2rss.

SimpleTracking comes up at the top of most Google searches, but lacks UPS support.

This is why open source software (like track2rss) is awesome, they somehow figured UPS out.

Caribou Locations

I can't remember who I was talking to about where Caribou Coffee is/isn't, but I thought it would be fun to hijack some flash from their site:

  • How timely! We (Lodidians) were just discussing Caribou's national presence (or lack thereof) yesterday. Thanks for the helpful graphic! :)

I LOL'd most during 'Gift Ideas,' but the 'Santa Smear Campaign' and 'Fight Before Christmas' were also entertaining. Can't understand why the dumbest video ('Beware the Mistletoe') has twice as many views as 'Snowvivor'...

Games are Kewl

Word Shoot is a good way to test out the keyboard on a new computer, except you don't get to do much alt/shift/ctrl-ing :(

Too bad my 33380 score didn't quite make the top of the leaderboard...

Testing 1-2-3

I'm taking a break from Xmas shopping at the

and testing out what could be my next computer. I realized that I had better test out the keyboard before making a decision, and so far it has been an adjustment. I'm happy to see an "end" key, as I don't recall there being one on some Macs?

I need to keep typing - but what about? I wish I had thought about the fact that I was going shopping after work when dressing myself this morning, since I'm probably wearing the most uncomfortable dress shoes I own.

Okay, enough complaining. I wonder how tough it would be to use the built-in iSight camera to take a picture of myself right now?

That was pretty easy!

Me = ENFJ, You = ?

I haven't taken the Myers-Briggs since college, but was just unofficially declared an ENFJ.

I'm strongest on the E(xtroverted) dimension, but read descriptions of some of the other types and think this is the closest fit. What about you?

Glad To Be Out

America's Most Literate Cities 2006 was recently released, and I'm happy to see Minneapolis and St. Paul ranked 2 and 5, respectively.

Overall, 70 cities with a population over 250,000 were ranked. Bringing up the rear?

Stockton, CA

(also known as the most overvalued real estate market and the third highest vehicle theft rate in the country)

Nice Catch!

On his final (ultimately meaningless) catch of the game, Torry lifts me over Jeff into the next round of our fantasy league playoffs to face the #1 seed.

0 for 2

I've had 2 different Candoni wines now, and can safely generalize that you should run the other way instead of drinking them.

Thankfully, the Barbera was the low point of an otherwise wonderful dinner Friday night at Amore Victoria - preceded by good times at the Carlo. (As opposed to bad times at the Carlo? Not with Jim behind the bar.)

I suck at taking/posting pictures lately, so I will focus on that while Blogger moves my account to the new version - hooray for tagging!

Talk About Old!

I'm not talking about my Mom's birthday today...

I was trying to click through the painful e-Rewards registration process (don't ask) and was asked a seemingly normal question about what search engine I use most (Google). Was the list of options created in 1997?!?

Nielsen and comScore pretty much agree that rankings are as follows:
  • Google
  • Yahoo
  • MSN
  • AOL
  • Ask

  • What are you trying to say, that HotBot isn't cool anymore?

I was a little disappointed that I didn't see Gopher on the list. I use that like everyday. I swear. The WWW is for losers.

Creepy?

I think Google knows me too well.

As I was entering a reminder on my Google Calendar to call my mom next week on her birthday, I noticed that the suggested event description was eerily accurate:
