I rather enjoy reading the Wall Street Journal, but not quite enough to pay for a subscription. In the past, I have read copies left laying around the office by others. In the future, I will enjoy the new mobile version on my Q.
I've wanted a camcorder for quite some time, and decided to take the $135 plunge on tonight's Woot. Before I checked out, I checked out RetailMeNot to see if there were any coupon codes that could save me a bit more money (not so much).
What I did find was a great use of Tufte's Sparklines, which give a quick visual indication of your chance of success with each code. I'm gonna read those books one of these days!
..from the safety of your computer. Michael told me about it, but since he doesn't blog anymore then I will - Google Maps has added street view to my hometown of Racine! Along with Nick, Martha and Woody, my picture was once in the Journal-Times in this exact location:
As a big fan of both Jakke and Amir videos and Collegehumor.com, allow me to explain the connection. Jake works for College Humor as an writer. College Humor is owned by Connected Ventures. Busted Tees is also owned by Connected Ventures (as is Vimeo) and in fact they all share the same sweet NYC office. Because they are all one big happy family, they often times model for shirt designs, especially if it is their idea. And yes, I am insanely jealous of their whole situation. They all seem to be having way too much fun to be calling it work.
If this is true, my new Starbucks card will soon* give me free Internet access** at any of their 7,000 locations. As an AT&T DSL customer, my dad (and Michael?) won't even need a card to get online for free at Starbucks.
*by the end of 2008 **up to two hours per day - but really, does anyone*** need to spend more than two hours a day at Starbucks? ***employees probably do, but they get unlimited free Internet access as a part of this deal, too.
At least $25,000 is at stake for videos of snowboarders 'poaching' these ski-only resorts, and I only see three so far! If you choose to watch them, start with 'Poachers' (they hit all four) and end with 'MRG_POACH_White_Suits'
Back in September, I painstakingly compiled a chart of the average number of days elapsed between blog posts.
As I approach 500 tweets, it was much easier to let TweetStats do that number crunching for me. I've been fairly consistent over the last six months, with between 30 and 40 tweets each month - most often coming via text message and later in the week.
This made me wonder how my usage of Blogger & Flickr & Twitter compared over time, and resulted in another painstakingly compiled chart:
I noticed the headline in NYT's Most E-Mailed list (something I suggest that everyone bookmark), too bad the website gave me an error after I finished reading the article:

Finally saw Blue Harvest last night - what a fun way to spend 45 minutes laughing at the Star Wars parody and remembering how the plot unfolded. I wish Family Guy would remake every movie I've ever seen...
Although I was only in the U of M Marching Band for one year, I can appreciate how nice their new digs in TCF Bank Stadium will be. See what I mean by watching some of the videos.
As I was flipping through the new Esquire (delivered to me for 25¢), I noticed an ad for the Tap Project, but there aren't any Minneapolis restaurants registered yet!
I'm not sure what's cooler about this website - the fact that it starts on fire, or that it sells a ghettoblaster (a word I haven't heard used to refer to a boombox since the McWilliams' lived in Iowa). Thanks (again), VSL!
