Lazy Blogging

I've started a nasty habit... linking to something from Iconoculture nearly every week. This one is creepy!

Womb with a view: At-home ultrasound parties

  • This is definitely a bad idea. The article says the ultrasound is nondiagnostic (which it shouldn't be!), but what if the U/S technician sees a birth defect that wasn't detected on early U/S (which, often, is the case). Since it's nondiagnostic, what is the technician's duty to warn? Also, if the mom chooses a 3D/4D U/S (which is all the craze right now), the features are much more recognizable to the general public than regular U/S! What happens in the scenario that mom is throwing one of these parties and chooses a 3D or 4D U/S and a cleft lip is picked up (normally very hard to detect on regular U/S) and all of her friends and family are viewing the U/S for fun with mom...in my opinion, there are definite ethical issues with these parties. Thanks for posting - very interesting!

Speedcabling

I hate dealing with a tangled mess of cables, but it is apparently now a sport. [via]

Chicago Real Estate

I've asked several friends how they found their apartment in Chicago, and thought I would collect their responses here for the world to benefit from.

For the Do-It-Yourselfer:

For the time-crunched or lazy:

For the wealthy (buyers):

What would you add to this list?

Love it!

Apparently, my blog has been reduced to a cameraphone repository...

I Wooted.

I actually got this with a webcam for a project at work, but it has the added benefit of working with my phone. I swore I would never use one of these...

UPDATE: I could have had two!
