BlogThis! - Paul Harvey

If I manage to get my ass out of bed by 6 AM, I'm usually in the car at 6:52 when Paul Harvey graces the AM waves with his news & commentary. Listening to his morning news is informative and entertaining, and never fails to bring me back to the kitchen table at 3005 N. Main St.

It must have been on weekends when my mom was working or drinking or something, but my dad would invariably "cook" us peanut butter & jelly sandwiches on toast for lunch while listening to what must have been Mr. Harvey's "Saturday Noon News." I remember always enjoying the PB&J sandwiches, because he was far from stingy with either of the toppings.

Apparently, all the threats that I would turn into one of said sandwiches were a bunch of hooey, as I like to think I still resemble a normal person. For some time back in the middle school/high school years, Nick did insist that my hair smelled like peanut butter though - I could never tell if he was actually serious...

Some yahoo named Doug Limerick is filling in for Paul this week, but you can listen to a week's worth of broadcasts on his website - including the real deal doing last Saturday's noon news.
