OMG do 33t!

Dmitry K says:
i will read your blog 2morrow so u betta have it nice and updatered

Nothing like some peer pressure to get you motivated, eh? I was actually just thinking about the fact that it has been a few days, while on hold with the Minnesota Department of Revenue. You know how it always asks you to press "1" if you are using a touch-tone phone? Does anyone ever NOT press "1," and is thus still using a rotary phone?!? I suppose if it was anything like my dad's, perhaps the owner may be emotionally attached...

The Minnesota Department of Revenue?!? Qwaa? That's right kids, yours truly is getting McAudited. Apparently my 2000 federal taxable income per IRS does not match line 1 of my Minnesota return. I really had no idea what I was doing when filing taxes back in my youthful years, so apparently I screwed something up. Today was the deadline to pay up or file an appeal, but a brief chat with a chap in the MNDOR assured me that I have another 30 days left in my grace period. My mom would probably describe the man's tone of voice as euthanized, as he was rather calm and seemed to be at extreme peace with the world. I wonder if that's what happens after working for the government for too long?

Anyways, Susan worked all weekend so I worked around the house. Highlights included

  • Replacing the hurty wobbling fan in our dining room with a Target blue light special
  • Warshing both vehicles with the fancy new Mr. Clean Auto Dry, which actually worked quite nicely
  • Hanging the uber heavy mirrored doors in the bedroom after hacksawing the broken old wheels off
  • Watering the front lawn for 2 1/2 hours
  • Helping Michael help some poor freshman make their Belkin wireless router play nicely with their Atheros wireless card - let the file sharing begin!
