Pekoe Boo

Susan and the 'ol Tea Bag are passed out downstairs... hmm, must be 9:30? Yep.

Well I've gotten enough guff about it, so here they are - pictures of the puppy I actually took. 28 pictures and 4 videos are probably more than you wanted, but I had to whittle it down from 285 so give me a break. And you wonder what took me so long? I was taking the damn pictures!

What else is new... I'm currently trying to finish a bottle of 2001 Grove Street Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, which was somewhat offensive when I opened it on Tuesday but seems to be improving. It has a strong black licorice nose, a little chewy in the mouth and a short cherry finish. Too much alcohol (14%) for me, but for $11 I'm not going to complain.

Holy poop, I just remembered that I gave blood earlier tonight, and am not supposed to drink alcohol until after "a hearty meal." I wonder if 4 Grandma's cookies (at 200 calories each) and some cous cous counts? I can definitely feel it after just a few sips.

We cooked with 1/4 cup and drank the balance of a 2004 Brancott Marlborough Sauvingion Blanc last night, which Susan initially described as "not the best" and then proceeded to take down three glasses of. We both identified pear and peach aromas, but quite honestly I don't remember anything else. It was OK for a Target wine, but I was hoping to let it sit for a few more months

  • Bout time! Although I have to say. You need to be careful where you're leaving this 14% alcohol wine around. There were a few shots that the little tea bag looked half in the bag. I would hate for Child Services to have to make a visit...er, I guess it would be Puppy Services. And another thing, I know you have this whole story about drinking tea and that's how you got the name "Pekoe", but I'm not buying it. A hardcore blogger like you probably had the whole "Pekoe Boo" entry title planned out months ago and naming the dog that was all part of your plan. Seriously though, cute cat.

  • The pictures are cute but tell susan to take one of you and the dog so I can see whose hair is longer! Mom

  • The puppy looks so much cuter now that he/she is dry and out of the sink. I didn't say so at the time, because I didn't want you to feel bad.....but that was NOT a cute picture. ;)
