Zintastic

Yesterday was the end of the Annual ZAP Festival at Fort Mason in nearby Sanny Franny. I didn't go, but did search this "best of" list for Lodi wines, and was surprised by the results. The absence of Earthquake Zin made me sad, as it's my current Lodi #1 - but my attention was drawn to wines from locals Borra and Klinker Brick, and another Lodi sourced Zin from The Getto.

I attempted to pair another Zin with dinner tonight, but the peppery nose on the 2003 Windmill Estate Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel wasn't a very good indicator of the chocolatey/vanillaish flavors that didn't exactly bring out the best in our overcooked crock pot chili...
