Tax Shenanigans
Over 55 million people have e-filed their 2004 IRS returns as of last Friday, but only 7% have taken advantage of the IRS' Free File Program (which has no restrictions). At roughly $40 per e-filed return, that's over $2 billion in unnecessary fees paid to the likes of Intuit (TurboTax) and H&R Block.
