How to Choose an Appraiser

I was recently presented with a list of appraisers to call, since 2 different ones have to go through our house and decide what they think it's worth. Aside from the fact that one of 'em did the appraisal 18 months ago when we bought the house, I didn't know who to pick.

So I Googled 'crp appraisal' and clicked on result #2. Pretty sure that CRP is an industry designation for Certified Relocation Professional, but perhaps they should consider Certified Relocation Appraisal Professional instead?

Anyways, it really helped me know what questions to ask, etc - so I'm blogging it in hopes that it will someday be Google result #1. Now we'll see if it gets us some sweet appraisals - think we can top $300K anyone? I don't.
