can someone please explain how the 1 inch blade on a corkscrew (banned) is less dangerous than a 4 inch scissor blade (allowed)?

Don't you mean "more" dangerous? I personally think a wine corkscrew can be very dangerous...at least that's what my hangovers tell me. Enjoy your time in Myrtle Beach...

Bummer about the corkscrew the security guard probally needed a really cool gift to give and wa la your corkscrew will do just great!
P.S. Most people already have 4 inch blade scissors!
