In times of uncertainty such as these, I turn to Wikipedia for answers...
The "Adidas" name is simply a combination of the founder's nickname (Adi) and the first three letters of his last name (Dassler).
There is a false assumption that ADIDAS means "All Day I Dream About Sports (or Soccer)"
