Billboard-less Brazil
São Paulo has banned all outdoor advertising effective 1/1/08.
Not surprisingly, advertisers don't think this is a very good idea.
I was amused by a few of their arguments, including that "streets will be less safe at night with the loss of lighting from outdoor advertising" and that "when you're in your car or alone on foot, [ads are] a form of entertainment that helps relieve solitude and boredom."Labels: advertising, funny
