Ooma Baby
The other day, I was wondering what Ashton Kutcher is up to - not sure why?
As it turns out, he's the Creative Director behind Ooma - the "Vonage Killer" VOIP startup that will begin selling the "hub" and "scout" devices below in September.

You spend $399 on the hardware and use your broadband internet connection to access a P2P network - and never pay another phone bill again.Labels: design, phone

I understood very little of that blog, but I heard "Ashton Kutcher" and I heard "never pay another phone bill again" ... so sounds good to me! And I think it's only a LITTLE weird that you spend your time thinking about Ashton and what he might be doing right now...

Funny thing. I ran across an online receipt today of a $20 donation to you. Never did get my promised cart wheel photos. You are a great deceiver.

GeoWeb
You've probably never used this term before, but you should start. It refers to the proliferation of map-based data online, and the tools that have evolved to make it easy for anyone to add their own data to a map...
Kristi and I have created maps for several of our trips, including this weekend in Chicago, Seattle & Washington, our PCH Road Trip, and New York last fall.
After my first visit to Whistling Straits for a practice round before the US Senior Open, I decided to tag location of all 18 holes.
Toni & Drew used WeddingMapper for their Omaha wedding in April.
I previously blogged the map I created to outline the area of South Lake Tahoe that was burned after an illegal campfire got out of control.
So why am I writing about this now? Because I read not one, but two articles in Wired on the plane last and saw another in today's New York Times. Read up!Labels: map, nytimes, wired

162+ Texts
Baseball teams play a lot of games! I try to watch the Twins as often as I can, but it's tough. As the regular season was ramping up in early April, I looked into a couple options for getting a text message update at the end of each game.
MLB.com offers Team Alerts, which can include a variety of updates on scores, home runs, injuries, etc - but it costs four bucks a month.
4INFO (aka USA Today) will send the final score a few minutes after the conclusion of each game for free - but they also send an "update" text (or two, lately) around noon everyday.
Only a few weeks after Dave promised it "in a matter of days", the webcam is up & running!

Anyone going?

Who's the baby with what appears to be a beer on the left side of your blog?... She appears shocked that you took her picture in so compromising a position...

Hi, I'm Back
It's been awhile, let's start with something light...
Thanks to Alicia, I now know that I was born during the one week in 1979 when Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" - this explains why I've always felt like I like that song a little more than I should.Labels: birthday, music
